Our Story
Our Spark
Crescent Candles began with a simple realisation: the atmosphere of a room can change the way a person feels.
One difficult night, after a particularly hard day, a British Muslim engineer lit a store-bought candle before reading the Qur’an.
Its warm, gentle glow of the candle created a sense of comfort.
The subtle scent helped quiet the mind.
But something was missing.
- The wax burnt unevenly, resulting in much waste.
- The wicks burned away too quickly, leaving too much of the candle unused.
- The fragrance, though pleasant, did not linger long enough to fully settle the space.
The experience, while comforting, lacked the depth and meaning that it deserved.
This raised a question:
What would it feel like if every part of the experience—the scent, the burn, the presence—was intentional?
So, he set out to create his own.
With the precision of an engineer and the values of his faith, he began designing candles that honored both performance and meaning—drawing inspiration from the rich sensory and cultural heritage of the Islamic tradition.
The result was a deeper sense of stillness and presence—one that allowed him to focus on what truly matters.
That shift—immediate, human, unmistakable—became the spark for Crescent Candles.
Our Craft

Behind the candles is the considered, practical mind of an engineer and the Islamic principle of "Ihsan"—doing things well, with sincerity and care.
Wicks and recipes are tried and tweaked until they burn cleanly.
Candles are hand-poured in small batches.
Each blend is tested, both in laboratories and in real homes, to see how the flame moves and how the scent settles.
Sustainability sits within this approach—eco-friendly, plant-based soy wax, recyclable glass, and materials chosen for quality and with intention rather than excess.
It’s thoughtful work, done diligently and sincerely—work done with Ihsan.
Our Heritage

Each scent is rooted in a place, story or concept cherished across the Islamic world—the three sacred mosques, the calm of Ramadan nights, the pathways of pilgrimage—the spaces where hearts yearn to return.
These candles are not souvenirs or imitations. They are subtle evocations, respectfully and tastefully crafted to honour the rich emotional heritage of the Islamic world.
Our Values

Crescent Candles can be summed up in four core values:
1. Sakina (سَكِينَةٌ) — Designing products and experiences that invite stillness, presence, and peace.
2. Ihsan (إِحْسَانٌ) — Crafting with care, patience, and attention to detail.
3. Ikhlas (إِخْلَاصٌ) — Acting with honesty and sincerity, without exaggeration or pretence.
4. Heritage — Sharing the beauty and heritage of the Islamic world with all.
