About us
Our Spark
Some evenings ask for a calmer light – the kind that helps the heart soften and the mind rest.
Crescent Candles began with a simple realisation: the atmosphere of a room can change the way a person feels.
One difficult night, after a particularly hard day, a British Muslim engineer lit a candle before reading the Qur’an. Its light eased the weight he’d bought home, slowed the air around him, and created the sense of stillness he’d been searching for.
That shift – immediate, human, unmistakable – became the spark for Crescent Candles.
Our Craft
Behind the candles is the considered, practical mind of an engineer and the Islamic principle of ihsan – doing things well, with sincerity and care.
Wicks are tried and tweaked until they burn cleanly. Wax blends are poured in small batches. Each fragrance is tested in real homes, over long evenings, to see how the flame moves and how the scent settles.
Sustainability sits within this approach – eco-friendly, plant-based soy wax, recyclable glass, and materials chosen with intention rather than excess. It’s thoughtful work, done diligently and sincerely.
Our Heritage
Each scent is rooted in a place, story or concept cherished across the Islamic world – the three sacred mosques, the calm of Ramadan nights, the pathways of pilgrimage – the spaces where hearts yearn to return.
These candles are not souvenirs or imitations. They are subtle evocations – respectful, familiar, and crafted to honour the emotional landscapes shared by Muslims everywhere.
Our Values
Crescent Candles can be summed up in three core values:
Peace – creating centred, spacious environments.
Ihsan – doing things well with sincerity, patience, craftsmanship and a quiet love of beauty.
Heritage – rooted in the shared places, meanings and values that unite us.
Our Heart
At its heart, Crescent Candles offers a calmer way to inhabit your evenings – a steady light, a sense of presence, and a pocket of peace you can return to again and again.
